| Q: My son is 2 months old. His stool colour used to be bright yellow until a week ago. It has gradually turned to green. His stool today was thick but dark green in colour. Why has the colour of my son's stool changed? Please advise. Ajanta (Mussourie, India) |
| A: Do not worry about the colour of his stools. It will keep varying in small babies. |
| Q: My daughter is nine months old. She is active and normal. But she urinates very often - every ten minutes or so - unless she is sleeping. Why is this so? Pranav (Philadelphia, USA) |
| A: There is no need to worry. It is quite normal to pass frequent urine at this age. |

| A: Since your child is only on breast milk, there is no question of indigestion, The baby is crying because if cold weather and need for warmth. Please make the baby sleep next to mother. Feed the baby on demand. |
| Q: My baby has trouble passing stools. Each day she holds me and cries before passing stools. I have tried giving her banana, orange and I add vegetables to her diet but nothing seems to help. What else can we do? Samin (Kuwait, Middle East) |
| A: Your baby's weight gain is fine which means she taking adequate feeds. You are also giving her enough fibre. Make sure she takes plenty of fluids as well in the form of milk, juice or even water. If your still have any problem, you should check with your paediatrician to rule out any surgical problems. He may even prescribe you some medicines to soften her stools, which is perfectly acceptable. |
| Q: I have twin girls of 7 months. The babies pass urine around 20 times a day. Is this normal? One of them shouts and shrieks a lot whereas the other is very quiet. One has two lower jaw teeth whereas the other has no sign of teeth. Are these differences normal? Chirag (Washington, USA) |
| A: These are quite normal. There is really nothing to worry about. |
