Making Healthy Breakfast for Kids

Making children eat healthy breakfast is a must. You can ensure that their body gets right nutrition by providing them with healthy foods at the beginning of the day. If children learn eating healthy breakfast and healthy food right from the childhood, they will carry this habit in future as well. Here are some tips for making healthy breakfast for your children.

Health has been the prime concern of mothers from time immemorial. On the other hand kids like to eat what they find interesting and tasty. It becomes a daunting task for moms to prepare healthy breakfast for kids that they prefer eating. There are certain packed food items that claim to be healthy and right for growing kids. They might contain preservatives and harmful chemicals that might be harmful for your child.

The best healthy and pure food that you can offer your child is made at home. You can take care of the nutrition and supervise the preparation time and duration. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day as this gives you the energy to start your day. Just keep in mind that if you want to make your child eat nutritious and healthy breakfast, you will have to make it appealing and tasty also. You can be creative and make the breakfast colourful and entertaining too. If you are trying to give your child a healthy breakfast, it should not be boring too.

Tips for Healthy Breakfast for Kids

  • Depending on the age, the taste of your child will change. When experimenting with foods you must keep in mind this point.
  • You can make pizzas with either the base made at home or bought from the bakery and then topping it up with fruits and vegetables that your child likes to eat.
  • Fruit dips can be prepared using milk cream, yogurt or peanut butter. You can whip the cream or yogurt and serve the fruits with toothpicks. Your child can dip the piece of fruit in the whipped cream or yogurt and enjoy the taste along with gain nutrition also.
  • You can make healthy muffins at home. For fiber you can use whole wheat flour and add fruits of your child’s choices.
  • Make smoothies with fruits and fat free yogurt. This will turn out a cranky morning child to have breakfast before he leaves for school. You can decorate it by serving the smoothie in a stylish glass and topping it with cherry and using a crazy straw as well.
  • Peanut butter is healthy and good on toast and various fruits as well. It contains protein and gives a filling breakfast to the child. With a glass of milk you will be able to give your child a complete healthy breakfast.
  • You can also make healthy cookies at home and you can easily find recipes on internet. Try them and your child will definitely like some of them.
  • Avoid fast food items, sugar cereals, donuts and pastries. These food items are low in nutrients and high in calories. Avoid sugary chocolate milk and readymade juices. Make juice at home using the juicer and fresh fruits.
  • Do not make breakfast a boring time. It does not have to be stereotyped and monotonous. Try out experiments and just keep in mind that there should be proteins, carbohydrates and vegetables in the breakfast necessarily. There is no hard and fast rule regarding breakfast unless you maintain the nutrient’s proportion.

Healthy breakfast for kids is important because when a child goes to school with full stomach and healthy food, he is able to concentrate well and remain active throughout the day. Do not force your child to eat the food he does not like. This will make the morning of the entire family happy.
