Significance of Decorating Easter Eggs
People decorate eggs as this is a sign of rejoicing on Easter. Some of the people put in lot of effort and intricate designs and artworks on Easter eggs. In fact, the Easter eggs symbolize the resurrection. People believe that just as the little chick comes out of the egg shell, Jesus also emerged from the tomb to have an everlasting life.
There is a story behind the colourful and decorated eggs on Easter. It is believed that the night Jesus was made to carry his cross; an egg seller helped him through leaving his basket of eggs behind. When he returned, he saw that all the eggs became coloured and were decorated with beautiful designs. It was only after the resurrection that he realised that all this meant rebirth and that too for the entire mankind.

Significance of Lamb
Lamb also has significance and so a special Easter pastry is in the shape of a lamb. In old days, lamb was eaten on Easter and was considered as a customary meat.

Easter Baskets
Easter baskets are now filled with decorated eggs, chocolates, jelly beans, marshmallow and many more things. People do add bunnies too especially when they present these baskets to kids. Initially, these baskets were filled with special breads and eggs. They were brought to the church and blessed by the father there. Many people still follow this custom today.

Significance of New Clothes
New clothes are significant and people wear new clothes for the entire week. People who are baptised wear white clothes. White clothes indicate that the person is free from sin and is filled with grace. They have been also given a new identity because of the new clothes.

Celebrate Easter with Kids

It is good if you explain your kids and let them know the significance of Easter so that they do not consider this just a holiday and time for making fun, getting gifts and enjoying. It is good to explain everything when they are just a kid and are not in an age to get influenced by TV commercials and other shows. If your child has some misconceptions in mind, clear it off as soon as possible. Take your children along with you to the church so that they can see and understand the significance and the right celebration and meaning of Easter. You can also arrange Easter egg hunt for them so that they can have fun too with their friends.

Go Green Easter Celebration

Nowadays people are doing whatever they can do to go green. You too can celebrate this Easter in an eco-friendly manner. Make eco-friendly Easter gift baskets and fill it with organic food items, eco-friendly toys and natural art supplies. You can boil organic eggs for decoration and make use of natural dye for colouring them. Arrange for an organic meal and make use of reusable things for the party. Avoid the disposables as far as possible.
There are so many ways you can celebrate Easter. However, the significance remains the same and will be as it is forever. Try to bring your children close to your culture and tradition and teach them that modernisation is not in going away from rituals.
